Employee Guidelines and Expectations

Touch of an Angel Cleaning Services was started out with providing clients with more than expected services. Going above and beyond the main cleaning aspects, but getting into the unexpected special details of what the clients would be extremely pleased to see. Taking the time to get to know each client personally and learning what exactly makes them the happiest. Taking that extra effort in making sure the client is pleased and satisfied with your work. Here are some ways to make that extra effort towards your clients:

  • Always do more than expected without expecting anything in return
  • Think deep clean not surface clean
  • Every house is different take the time to get to know each one
  • Don't wait for things to build up, maintain it so it never does
  • Make each client feel special

Cleaning Guidelines:

Kitchen & Dining: Start up high with long duster, edging all corners, vents, light fixtures and ceiling fans along the way. Dust all wall surfaces and decor on the walls including blinds, windows, and window sills like your "painting the walls" wipe off any shelves lifting everything and gently putting back. Also make sure to do on top of the refrigerator. Move on to all main appliances, starting with:


  • Microwave- Clean inside and out and underneath. Soak and wash vents if needed.
  • Stove- Remove any racks or drip pans and wash in sink (if it is an older stove with drip pans top can lift and be wiped under as well). Scrub top until all cook marks are removed. Use soft scrub if needed. Remove knobs and clean knob and under knob and put back. Polish top and down the front. Dry off and racks or drip pans and put back carefully.
  • Dishwasher- Wash front and open and get all edges and finish with a polish.
  • Refrigerator- Wash front and water tray, get handles extra good. Open doors and get inner edges. Finish with a polish.
  • Sink- Scrub inside, down into the drain, edges and around sink. Wash faucet make sure under faucet and behind. Dry out and polish sink and faucet. Make sure soap bottles are wiped off and placed back with labels facing forward or that soap dishes are cleaned out. Clean any drain stoppers and polish and set aside. If there is a widow in front of sink wipe it down.
  • Counters- Lift and wipe under everything! Anything that is lifted wipe down when putting back. Pay attention to walls behind counters and wipe if need as well as light switches and top edge of outlets.
  • Cupboards and Drawers- Wipe down all fronts especially around area used to open. Slightly open and get top edge. Pay extra attention to main areas such under the sink and by trash can or next to stove.
  • Table and Chairs- Wipe down light fixture if needed. Clean surface of table, edging and legs. Pull out chairs and wipe down seats, backs, legs and any bars. Check under legs for any build up hair.
  • Floors- Vacuum off rugs front and back or wipe and set aside then vacuum and edge entire floor (Don't forget floors inside pantry). Mop with recommended floor cleaner. This is one the dirtiest areas of the house get down on hand and knees wipe any excess dirt up. While down there check the edges where the floor meets the cupboards and the base board under cupboards. Put back mats when dry.
  • Finishing Touches- Double check and Wipe down all doors front, back and edges. Pay extra attention around Handel. Wipe down font of siding around door frames as well as inner edges. Take out any trash and put new bah in (wipe down trash can). Wipe down Walls, top edge of outlets, base boards (don't forget behind the door) and light switches. Do a double take and shut off lights

Bathrooms: Start up high with long duster, edging all corners, vents, light fixtures and ceiling fans along the way. Dust all wall surfaces and decor on the walls including blinds, windows, and window sills like your "painting the walls" wipe off any shelves lifting everything and gently putting back. Move on to deep cleaning all facilities. Start with soaking sinks, shower (run with hot water first), tub and toilet.

  • Vanity- Start with light fixtures and wipe if needed. Wipe down mirror from tip top to very bottom. Scrub inside of sink with soft scrub, down into the drain, edges and around sink. Wash faucet make sure under faucet and behind. Dry out and polish sink and faucet. Make sure soap bottles are wiped off and placed back with labels facing forward or that soap dishes are cleaned out. Wipe down counter lift and wipe under everything on counter. As you lift wipe off and set back nicely with label facing forward. Double check mirror and wipe down fronts of cabinets and slightly open to get edges.
  • Shower- Scrub bottom with soft scrub and work your way up walls (remove any hair caught in drain and throw in toilet). Lift any bottles and wipe them down (don't forget bottom) scrub under them and put back nicely with labels facing forward. Scrub shower knob and shower head. Rinse down shower and dry out (get very top edging of shower and very bottom under water proof edging). Polish off shower knob and shower head as well of any glass or doors front, back and handle. If need use scratch free scrubber and try to get off water spots.
  • Tub- Scrub bottom with soft scrub. Rinse down and wipe down ledges lifting anything and wiping down and putting back nicely with label facing forward. Wiping down inside and outside walls. Polish faucet, knobs and drain.
  • Toilet- Scrub inside bowl all the way down neck and up under rim. Use pumice stone if any sign of a ring. Wipe down back of toilet, seat covers of toilet and rim down to front of bowl getting both sides. Make sure to get into creases of pipes. Wipe down water line and floor behind toilet lifting anything nest to it and wiping it down and placing back nicely. Wipe down toilet paper holder and fold toilet paper.
  • Floors- Vacuum off rugs front and back or wipe and set aside then vacuum and edge entire floor. Mop with recommended floor cleaner. Then get down on hand and knees wipe any excess dirt up. While down there check the edges where the floor meets the cupboards and the base board. Put back mats when dry.
  • Finishing Touches- Double check and Wipe down all doors front, back and edges. Pay extra attention around handle. Wipe down font of siding around door frames as well as inner edges. Take out any trash and put new bag in (wipe down trash can). Wipe down Walls, top edge of outlets, base boards (don't forget behind the door) and light switches. Do a double take and shut off lights.

  • Furniture- Wet cloth and wipe top surfaces lifting everything wiping under and wiping what you lifted and placing back nicely. Wipe front and sides and feet of furniture slightly pulling out any draws or cupboards and wiping top edge. Dust or Vacuum lamp shades and wipe down base. Wipe down or vacuum and couches or other furniture. Check under cushions.
  • Bedding- change if needed.
  • Floors- Vacuum off rugs and set aside. Edge entire room and around furniture and vacuum entire surface (don't forget behind doors). Get under any furniture as far as possible. Mop of it's a hard surface and put rugs back.
  • Finishing Touches- Double check and Wipe down all doors front, back and edges. Pay extra attention around handle. Wipe down font of siding around door frames as well as inner edges. Take out any trash and put new bah in (wipe down trash can). Wipe down Walls, top edge of outlets, base boards (don't forget behind the door) and light switches. Living rooms and offices: Start up high with long duster, edging all corners, vents, light fixtures and celling fans along the way. Dust all wall surfaces and decor on the walls including blinds, windows, and window sills like your "painting the walls" wipe off any shelves lifting everything and gently putting back.

  • Furniture- Wet cloth and wipe top surfaces lifting everything wiping under and wiping what you lifted and placing back nicely. Wipe front and sides and feet of furniture slightly pulling out any draws or cupboards and wiping top edge. Dust or Vacuum lamp shades and wipe down base. Wipe down or vacuum and couches or other furniture. Check under cushions.
  • Floors- Vacuum off rugs and set aside. Edge entire room and around furniture and vacuum entire surface (don't forget behind doors). Get under any furniture as far as possible. Mop of it's a hard surface and put rugs back.

Special Reminders:

  • Always spray cloth with your cleaner not directly onto surfaces.
  • Always wet you dusting cloth.
  • Always lift never slide! From anything on tables or shelves to chairs on hard surfaces.
  • Do not use any cleaning product that is not ours without fully reading the instructions and fallowing them exactly and testing an area first.
  • Never talk politics or religion with clients or at their houses.
  • Always try to talk to the client about them and don't talk about any personal problems.
  • If you can move it do it. Move anything you can to wipe or vacuum under or behind.
  • Put everything back how it was but neatly.
  • Don't leave any feet print
  • Always double check everything! Especially locks!!!
